Studio Gen UK was created by a mother and daughter, two generations with completely different humour, style and cultural references, but a shared love of creativity, nostalgia and good design.

The idea started at a kitchen table in East Sussex with one simple thought:

Greeting cards should actually feel like the people sending them.

Too many cards feel generic. We wanted to create collections inspired by real personalities, real memories and the moments that stay with us long after the occasion has passed.

For the Gen X side of Studio Gen, that means rave culture, vinyl records, dancefloors, iconic smiley faces and the kind of humour that remembers when weekends lasted three days and nobody owned a mobile phone.

For the younger generation, the style shifts, playful humour, modern motherhood, friendship chaos and messages that sound like something you’d actually send your friends.

Every design starts as a conversation between us.

Sometimes it’s a memory.
Sometimes it’s a joke.

Sometimes it’s a cultural moment that instantly sparks an idea.

All artwork is created digitally in our small home studio, where we experiment with colour, typography, illustration and graphic styles until something feels just right.

Studio Gen UK isn’t about one age group or one aesthetic. It’s about generations, identity, memories and the different ways we connect with each other through humour, culture and design.

Because the best cards don’t just say “Happy Birthday.”

They say: “I saw this and thought of you.”
